my Michael dream

I had a dream where I was somewhere (a book signing perhaps?) with my best friend and Dad. Michael was there and we were chatting, and then he started to sign some stuff for some people. I had forgotten my camera so I was begging my dad to go get a disposable one, but my friend had one. However, before I could get any pictures or get anything signed I woke up! |

Sounds like you were that close.
Only for you it was a dream. I was on my way to the Tunbridge Wells booksigning earlier this year when I was pulled over and told my brake lights were stuck on and to get them resolved ASAP. After waiting for the Recovery service and with the evening traffic, I didn't make this occasion. :-( |

Well, I remeber actually meeting Michael at a Waterstones book signing in Manchester. I queued for over an hour (and I was one of the first lot people there!) and had a it all planned out, act normal and say something NOT stupid, and yet when I got to the front and was stood in front of the man himself, all I could say was "hi". What a waste! I will probably never get that close again!

Lisa, I actually met Michael very briefly in L.A., and thankfully I did not turn into a blathering idiot. So did you get anything signed? Did he say anything to you?
Yes, I was excited to have him in a dream and I blow it. Sheesh. |

Pollyanna,
Yes, I got my copy of Sahara signed. He did ask me how I was etc, but I just turned into a complete idiot. I will keep a look out for any other signings he may do and this time I promise I will do better! It was still an amazing experience though....

Hi! I have also met Michael at the Cheltenham Literature Festival and had a chat with him. He signed my book and then I saw him again the next year! The one hour queue to see him was worth it though. He really is lovely!!! You are not alone I also ended up as a wobbly mess on the floor! |

I ran into Michael at a 7-11. He invited me over to the hotel for some pizza and brewskies(thats beer). Anyway he went on and on about his life and his travels. Did you know that when he was a young boy he took down Winston Churchill with a leg sweep? WOW, good stuff. When he was a teenager he parachuted off the Eifel Tower. He also was 500 GP World Champion in 1971. What a guy ! Olympic Gold Medalist in gymnastics, is there nothing this man cannot do? SHHHH, He slept with the Chiefs wife in Tibet. OH, and then he woke up. This was one of Michaels dreams and I was in it. |

You had me going there for a bit, although I could not quite picture Michael in a 7-11 or inviting someone he didn't know back to the hotel. |
