Palin opens diaries for Weidenfeld
HAVING KEPT DIARIES since the late 1960s, one of the country’s best-loved personalities, Michael Palin, has sold them for publication by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, in a deal negotiated by Orion’s Malcolm Edwards and Michael Dover with Palin’s agent, Steve Abbott of Mayday Management.
The diaries will be published in three volumes, starting with The Python Years 1969-1979, scheduled for publication in August 2006. His editor will be the Group’s Editor-in-Chief, Ion Trewin, who said: “For their insights into life in the 1970s and the performers he worked with, as well as for the sheer pleasure that they will give to the reader, Michael Palin’s diaries will rank alongside some of the great diarists from the 20th century – Alan Clark, Chips Cannon, Harold Nicolson and Duff Cooper.”

Oh! This is exciting! I've always wondered what sorts of things he would write about (besides travel diaries and whatnot). I'll certainly have to buy The Python Years book, that ought to be interesting, hearing it all from Michael's point of view. |

I'm pretty certain he has written somewhere before that he keeps separate diaries for his work life and home life. I would assume that being the private person he is that these would only be work related. They would be really interesting to read none the less.
