Makes you wonder about the fate of the Shivankoreni village that MP visited in Full Circle (on the Urubamba, not the Amazon):

I have my own little personal protests. I try not to buy fuel from Esso, Texaco and BP because of the damage I have heard they have done. I'm sure most companies are guilty to some extent. I also try to avoid any Nestle products as well. I may not change the world but I would like to try!

Because the main ingredient for Nestle's "Crunch" is produced by BP. |

The main reason that Nestle has been out of favour for so long is their aggressive promotion of formula baby milk in developing countries. They have pushed baby milk as an alternative to breast feeding in many countries in which the preparation of this product leaves much to be desired in terms of hygiene, cleanliness and quality and as a result it is assumed that many babies have been made sick or died as a result of poor hygiene and poor preparation, in order ot boost Nestle's profits.
Of course breast is best anyway but it is a scandal how Nestle has undermined that message and endangered countless young lives. |

The story about Nestles and baby formula has been going on for years. None of this suprises me.
