Am I really that shallow? by lindsey on 3 November 2005 12:35am

I'm thinking about dating this guy who's got a 100% british, and I really dig his accent, and he's really funny, and he's attractive. But the real like turn on is his accent. My friend says I'm shallow for dating a guy just for his accent, but what do you all think?

Well, if I was you, I'd look for more than the accent, Linds. Just have fun and be careful, that's the most important thing, I guess..

I guess people have dated for all sorts of reasons. Hey, Prince Charles married Diana, because for all intent and purposes his father ordered him to.
So no Lindsey it isn't shallow. Too psychologically involved to go into why folks do it.

Summing up though, I have to agree with Patty. Be careful.

well, I also dig the kid because he's got an awesome sense of humor too, and he's a gentleman. He always opens the door for me and makes me feel somewhat important

That's already a good start Lindsey. Now, just make sure it isn't window dressing.

Patty and I must be the only one being slightly cynical. I like to see the best in folks; however I keep in mind a quote from President Reagan. Trust, but verify.

I think that many women are attracted by voices. I remember being attracted by a voice on the phone and being very disappointed when I finally got to meet the voice. Myself, I like to see and hear Tierry Henry say pretty much anything!!
By the way Lindsey, where are you from? We share the same name - spelling and all. Linz

Have fun Lindsey, but please use caution! I'm a sucker for American accents - luv 'em!
