Hi Guys
Can anyone advise me how easy it is to get a visa for China (and Vietnam) in Hong Kong?? I could get one in the UK before I go but i've either got to go to London for a few days or go through a third party and pay a fortune (£68 for China visa) Please help!!!

I'm going to China and Hong Kong in June and have had to buy a double entry visa, which must be obtained prior to departure. I think you can get a visa in Hong Kong but not sure where.

I'm getting my visa sorted from the Visaservice in London.

I am going to Hong Kong in May and wish to go to the mainland while there. I have been told that by a few authorities that you can get visas very easily while in Hong Kong, BUT you cant get one at the border

Claire some more info i have got

dont admit to having a media related job as doing so will delay your application form.

it has been quicker to obtain or renew visas in Hong Kong than anywhere else although it has recently become easier through Chinese embassies.

overstaying after ur visa has expired can cost you Y500 per day.

make sure and get your injections before you go i recently had to get my Hep A and Typhoid and be sure to take mosquito repellent

I'm travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing, down to Qingdao then Shanghai, then i'm kinda cutting accross country to Xian (stopping on way but can't remember where as itinery at home) then down to Chengdu, Kunming, Dali, Guilin, Yangshou, Nanning and that one that begins with a P near the vietnam border before going on to Vietnam. Although rabies apparantly is not essential and is classed as voluntary is is advised to get it. Costs £100 and the needle is huge. When i put my form into the docs it didn't mention Rabies it was only when i went for my appointment at the travel clinic they mentioned it. Where / when are u going?

I'm going in June - going to Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Yichang (to get the boat to spend 4 days on the Yangtze), Shibaozhai, Xian and Chongqing.

After I've done that i am going down to Hong Kong for a week.

I live in Hong kong and it is relatively easy to obtain visa's in Hong kong for China. China travel service provides visa service. I believe it takes three or four days to turn them around. Vietnam is also quite simple to do here. This might help
