The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Kazakhstan by tucsonmike on 16 March 2006 5:50am
When we had the Kazakh visitor to our Toastmasters club, I had no idea why I posted it and George said it might mean something. Well, tonight I attended the Tucson-Alma Aty Sister City meeting. They roped me into joining. Interesting especially after geneticist Spencer Welles had his special on PBS yesterday. He found a man in Kazakhstan who can be traced back to that area for 40,000 years. It is the region, Europeans, Siberians and Native Americans branched off from. Apparently I would have blended right in if it were not for the hat and boots. (Someone thought I was an off duty Pima County Sheriffs Deputy).

It was funny. The Kazakhs there are all U of A students. The men and women sat separately. The men dressed in track suits the women very stylishly copying Chinese fashion magazines.
It's only $15/year and may lead to other things. It looks interesting.

Hi tucsonmike. Excuse me for asking but do you have any used postage stamps from Kazakhstan.
I am collecting used postage stamps from every country in the world and of the current countries Kazakhstan is one of only 19 stamps I need to complete the collection.

Not at all Ken. The next meeting should be in a couple of weeks, and I will send an email and ask.

Hi again tucsonmike. Please don't try to get stamps for me. It was only on the off chance there would have been postal correspondence between you and your visitor that I thought I would ask. Thanks anyway.
