Baltic Cruise - Destination Advice by Wiltshire Saint on 19 March 2006 7:34pm

My wife and I are lucky enough to be going on Baltic cruise in late May (I like to all it a mini-Michael trip!)

We're stopping at a number of destinations, most for less than a day but two (Copenhagen and St Petersburg for two days). Our first stop is Oslo, and we'd really appreciate tips on where to go.

However, we don't like doing the obvious sightseeing stuff (unless it REALLY is a must to see something .e.g. the Pyramids when in Cairo). What we like to do is just wander and see what we come across, but obviously in Europe this is less exciting than in more exotic locations. I guess we like to see the city from a local's perspective if possible.

Can anyone help with Olso? We arrive at 7am and depart 2pm, so I'm guessing our options are limited...! (Yes, I know. If it's any consolation I feel like a proper tourist and we'd love to stay longer).

Thanks

Simon
