tiger leaping gorge by chrisspencer on 20 March 2006 6:58am

i`m planning to walk the high route along the gorge with my kids age 5 & 7. They`re quite used to walking but is this too ambitious? If so, how can I make it achievable?

Lol

All kidding aside, you know your kids better than we do and what would entice them, and whether they are physically up to it.

Chris, We walked the trail last July 05 with our kids, 8 and 10 years old. We don't know your kids but the trail is good. Just the part up the bends might be heavy for them. But you can stop and rest. See you don't go with rainy weather, will be slippery, even for adults. See that you start when the sun starts going down, the first 2-3 hours you have no shadow. Then stay at Luye's guesthouse. Excellent place !! Set off early the next morning before the sun gets to hot, here you all need to do the bends ! The rest is fine. There are various places to eat, drink and sleep on the way. We stayed at Luye's and walked the rest of the trail the following day but if we would go again we would stay another night on that fantastic mountain. It was really nice there ! Assure you visit Margo at the beginning of the trail, she has a map and has great recommendations. Have a wonderful time. For more questions see our website, choose English, see the chapter worldtrip 05-06 and choose China. Or drop us an e-mail. Regards from the Graesslins www.graesslintravels.com
