What has your favorite travel destonaion been? I have been to Gibralter Island out on Put-In bay and that is where I 'died'.

There is a birds eye veiw of the place. It is a priveat island owned by Ohio State University and I went there for a feukd trip in 8th grade to study the water composition of Lake Erie (it is much better than it was in the 80's when it was trash dumping grounds). But the highlight was sailing on the lake and watching the sun set...

Without doubt it is and always has been the island of Lamu on the Kenya coast. One of the most magical chilled-out places in the world; a laid back throw back to an earlier time, combining tropical coastal paradise, history, culture, scenic beauty and wonderful climate. I have been there at least 8 times over the years and know I will always keep going back as and when I get the opportunity.

Well obviously I love Turkey and we have an apartment there, and I adore the Maldives but I think my favourite place of all is Kathmandu.

It must be the aging hippy in me!! ;-)

I think it is Lamu that was mentioned in the book 1421, where allegedly Chinese intermixed with Africans. Must be an amazing place.

My favorite travel place? That is a hard one. Too many to really place here and they vary depending on mood etc.

Heavens ... I've enjoyed everywhere I've been so much, but if I had to pick an all-time favorite, it would be Japan.

Japan was expensive, but the people were wonderful, the public transport first-rate (if crowded), the food interesting and delicious (I got seriously hooked on soba and udon noodles), the landscape beautiful, the sites fascinating ... I could go on.

There are only two things I regret about my trip to Japan. One, I caught a horrible cold (third vacation in a row that I got sick). Two, I had to leave.

I also quite like my trip to Utah for my camp. I finally got to meet PEERS who understand what I am going through ( I highlighted peers because someone at the school who worked with me also had my condition).

The Mendocino Coast in California.

It looks a lot like Donegal which I've only seen in pictures but is where most of my ancestors came from so maybe there's some sort of collective unconscious or racial memory affecting my choice.

Mendocino also has the incredible redwoods, my favorite trees. (My will specifies that my ashes be scattered in a redwood forest.) You also see a lot of whales in Mendocino and a tremendous amount of wildlife. An added attraction is my cousin has a wolf rescue there - you haven't lived until you've been kissed (slurped) by a wolf.

I'm not a big fan of Orlando either. Most of Florida is not my cup of tea. Nothing wrong with being a big kid Margaret. I will be 50 in December and I am having my second childhood. Where in New York were you?
