Documentaries in DVD? by Asatsuyu on 8 March 2003 10:15pm

Does anybody know whether the BBC documentaries will ever be available on DVD? That would be sooooo great!

I know a lot of Palinites are bugging the BBC directly....
It would be great. I am in the USA, and I can't find Around the World in 80 Days-- even on VHS.
Oh woe. I haven't seen this since it first was broadcast on PBS a LONG time ago. I hardly remember it.
Sigh.
Let's bug the BBC for a BOX set of all the series.
Ready? GO!

Good News! I have just received an e-mail from the BBC, saying that the titles are seroiusly being considered for release in DVD format. Check www.bbcshop.co.uk for pre-release dates as and when they are available. If you need them in the other regional formats (i.e. Region 1, 3,4 etc), why not buy a multi-region DVD player? They are not that much more expensive, all you have to do is order all the DVD's from the UK websites.

I bought one for only 99 EUR. I did it because DVDs with RC1 are usually cheaper at ebay than DVDs with RC2 :-)

Good News! As of 24th March, the BBC Shop at www.bbcshop.co.uk is selling Full Circle on DVD at £19.99. Good start! Now for the other series...

Absolutely great news about the DVD, lets hope it was because the BBC bowed down to the pressure we gave them. Here's looking forward to a load of top extras.

Not such good news :^{

I've just logged on to order the Full Circle DVD and it's temporarily out of stock!

Released 24th, sold out on the 26th!!??

Good God, that's pretty quick!?

Congratulations Michael and team. A lot of people have great taste!! :^}

Ellen

Bereft of DVD *Sigh*

Fear not, ellenpc! The BBC hasn't sold out, its initial stock is late coming in. You can place a phone order and be on the list to receive one as soon as they arrive. When I placed mine I was told they'd be in "at any moment".

Can I just say how nice it is to see such a civilised forum? So many others on the Net are full of illiterate kids 'dissing' one another. This place is definitely a cut above!

Ahhhhh, It's all become clearer!

Sincere thanks for that AmandaRAB, much appreciated.
