Swiss Alps Anyone? or Hot Mud Pools? by ladysoandso on 15 August 2006 7:54pm

I've ventured the Swiss Alps - not the Palin way ~ but I sure wish I'd seen his DVD's before I travelled. I did the tourist thing and didn't really get to meet the real people or see the real Switzerland as viewed thru the eyes of locals... I've tracked around Aussie, Hawaii and Fiji and other South Pacific islands and managed to do it the Palin way ie without staying in any 5* resorts and had the greatest REAL travel experience ever! Did not do any of the usual 'touristy' things at all! met REAL folk and experienced REAL local lifestyle. If any of you ever come to Rotorua I offer to show you the REAL Rotorua and how awesome and unique our Maori culture is. Haere ra from Annette in Rotorua New Zealand.

Well now that the book is going to be published, I should probably see where the Professor met his fatal end in other words Reichenbach Falls.

Annette, I visited Rotorua when I was perhaps 3 or 4 and I can still remember it vividly. I can also still recall the smell of the bubbling mud. My memory of my early years is pretty terrible, but something makes this amazing place stand out.
