Happy Halloween!!

We all decided to wear black and orange to work today (just our department that is) - the office is decorated with black and orange balloons.

Suzulu why are Halloween colours black and orange? We don't really celebrate it in Oz, not one kiddie dressed as a spook knocked on the door at all tonight!

I had a pair of kiddies at my door tonight. Not one to celebrate Halloween, all I had was a few leftover (rejected) lollipops that were quite a few days old. I'm so cheap.....

Happy Samhain everyone!!

I don't really know why the colours are black and orange, but as a guess, witches' hats and cats are black and pumpkins are orange! I don't usually celebrate Halloween, it was really a colleague's idea to dress in black and orange today, I just went along with the flow. At least it brightens the office up!
Re: Halloween...muhahahaha! by Lounge Trekker on 31 October 2006 4:24pm
We carved a few jack o'lanterns and will have them out hoping some little goblins come looking for yummies. I'm not a big fan of the tradition either. Lights are off at about 7 pm because little kids shouldn't be out too late and I don't wanna see teenagers.

When my mailbox was blown up by a bomb a few years ago, I immediatly checked my house and garage to make sure there was no further damage or fires.

Then...I must be growing up...I just laughed and said to myself, 'I hope they stuck around to watch it blow!'

my school today checked schoolbags to make sure we didn't bring anything halloween-ish to "disrupt" the students. they even searched my lunch box!

we have carved out a pumpkin for the kitchen. but we aren't allowed to put a candle in it for this is student accommodation and we cannot be trusted with anything remotely daring... i'm suprised we haven't been forced to use plastic cutlery...

Some of us dressed up for class today...our chorus pianist was a fireman, one of the administrators was the Grim Reaper, a girl in my chorus class was a pirate, and one of the English teachers was a fairy. We're celebrating in my pottery class tonight and Thursday, so I've been walking around in my vintage silk beaded jumpsuit, looking like a very out-of-place Vegas showgirl. :P
