For the Australians (and anyone else). by tucsonmike on 1 November 2006 6:34am

Gee, I may make it there in 2010. Toastmasters International is talking about having the International Conference in Australia. (It would be the first time outside North America). Will have to see. Would be interesting. It would be during Winter in Australia because our Intl. Convention is held in August.

A Creme Egg Lei, LOL! It would be interesting at least. The Toastmasters bylaws originally said the conference had to be in a North American city (then again, that was drawn up when there were only U.S. and Canadian clubs. The majority of clubs are still in North America). Two years ago, the International President was Australian. This year, he is Filipino.

That's very exciting news, Mike. Do you know whereabouts in Australia it's to be held? If it's in Melbourne, Kazzzz and I can give you the grand tour. No cactus wrens here though ;)

If it's held in Hobart, you could visit the Cadbury chocolate factory in Claremont. Home of the creme egg?

Not yet Missy. I might be able soon to check the website and find out. Isn't Hobart in Tasmania? I can see the headline now. Toastmasters force Tasmanians off island for conference!

Yes, Hobart is certainly in Tasmania and that sounds just about right, Mike!

And I think a visit to the Cadbury chocolate factory is definitely in order!
