Our poor litle hamster "wee Stuarty" appears to be near death. My wife,Margaret,is heartbroken.I know it sounds silly but she really loves him.He reacts to her voice. She will say"do your tricks Stuarty"and he climbs upside down in his cage.Small animal, has given a lot of pleasure.Lesson there somewhere.

I hope it's an easy passing for the wee fella. Having been the funeral director for a few rodent deaths, I encourage you to help Meg through this. You are man enough!

The little blighter seems to have recovered almost.Meg cleaned his cage then kept him at her bed side. I brought him dowstairs then shook him out of his little house and he seems better.Meg reckons she may have smitten him with the cold,as his little eyes are sticky. He was totally lifeless yesterday.
He appears to be like "his dad".Made of steel.

"Wee Sturty"died in his little bus on Friday.I came home and Meg had him layed out in a little love heart covered box that my daughter had recieved with a Valentine gift.He had been active as hell since I last posted.Hope this does'nt sound silly ,over a hamster. This is from a guy who sat for hours watching his mother die (1976)and did'nt cry.Tough as nails? My arse.

So sorry, John - the troubles with your family and now this....

I've given up on short lived pets like hamsters because the incredible heartbreak comes all too soon. Two years with a hamster is doing good and anything more is a blessing.

My condolences to your family for "Wee Sturty" and also for your cousin.

Been looking at that last sentence for 5 minutes - I certainly don't want to diminish your cousin's death in any way but heartaches include both the people and the animals that we love.

I am so sorry Johnny.

They are with us all too short a time.

I may be silly but I am already dreading the time we lose our beloved Tosun the Staffie - and he's only 2! Hopefully he will live to at least 10, and I am trying not to think of how short the interlude but to enjoy the precious time we have with him.

Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Johnny, so sorry. I lost my dog near Christmas, and I understand what a huge loss it can be to lose a pet, especially one who seems so apart of the family! Anyway, I'm sending warm wishes your way, feel better :)
