Michael's Bag by stevewalsh on 30 January 2007 5:43am
Does anyone know which brand Michael's lovely canvas and leather over-the-shoulder tote bag/satchel thingy is? Thanks.

Oops. Just realised this has come up before. Still, wouldn't mind a definitive answer.

Don't think anyone came up with a definite answer.Buy a nice lookalike. Are'nt bags a rip-off?I read of woman's handbags that cost a fortune.

This subject has come up several times, yes, but I don't think we have ever had a conclusive answer.

Webbie, can you help?

I would stake my life it's a Billingham camera bag. I have the larger version myself from when I was a professional photographer.
They are as tough as nails and so great for travel. Heavy though, especially the canvas ones.

Here's a question back - which make of bush hat does Michael wear in Hemingway?
Hmmm better put it in a new post.

According to the Himalaya credits, it's a Whitehouse Cox bag. I Googled the name and found their site...over two hundred pounds a piece, but they look to hold up so well that I'd think it was worth it.

So they are, they even state so on their webpage. Mind you I can't see the difference between the Whitehouse Cox and Billingham bags as they are both sturdy. Mine hase been around the world with me and has taken a fair bit of punishment.
