I went to Krakow on a school trip 3 years ago. It's a wonderful city especially when covered with snow. You must definitely see the Castle and the ex Jewish ghetto where "Schindler's List" was filmed. If you've never been there I suggest you should visit the Auschwitz camp, it's not far from the town and it's an experience you can't easily forget. As far as I can remember there are many pubs and cafès in the city centre, but we dind't go out very often because it was January and the temperature was around -15°. Have a nice time!

Krakow is great. I was there in 1999, and had to promise to return in 2009.

The main square and Wawel Castle were my favorite places. Cannot comment on restaurants or accomodations, because we stayed with people.

Hi Verena

Krakow is just a lovely city to walk around. Wawel Castle is impressive to look at. (It's apparently a place of spiritual revelance if you are a Hindu being one of seven locations in the world to have a Chakra? A vortex of energy, no less)

Somewhere no one has mentioned yet are the Salt Mines at Wieliczka. Well worth the trip.

Auschwitz is without doubt a must.

Please feel free to read my travelogue for nice pubs/places to eat at
